Anacapa

Katie Yeckley serves as the ombudsman for 25 active duty Coast Guard members and their families of the CGC Anacapa and CGC Elderberry in the small town of Petersburg. A working mother of three, Katie is also the professional advocate for the Petersburg Indian Association's tobacco prevention and control grant. She was drawn to the ombudsmen program because she wanted to be able to help spouses that would be moving into a new environment and to assist them with an easier transition. She has really enjoyed helping and working with new families. She has been a Coast Guard spouse for almost 12 years and hopes that her experiences and support can help other spouses.
