>Munro to Hawaii for TACT

>27 April 2009

MUNRO blog readers,

As you’ve probably noticed, we haven’t posted for a while. We arrived in Hono, and TACT (Tailored Annual Cutter Training) is fully underway. After a week of inport drills, we’re underway for multiple day trips for the next couple weeks. So far, so good. The crew has passed most of the drills the first time round, and many got to participate in fire fighting and patching/plugging school. The adventuring has continued in our Libo time! Luaus, diving, snorkeling, shopping, hiking, and of course hours spent lying on the beach working on sunburning our pale Alaskan skin. It’s beautiful to have a change of pace and hang out in the polar opposite of Dutch Harbor – although an Amelia’s milkshake would be nice in the hot weather!

Regular blogging will continue when we’re done with TACT and patrolling again. Please stay patient for the next round of MUNRO’s patrol escapades!

Very respectfully,
