>Cutter Roanoke Island boards motor vessel Everest Spirit

>The Coast Guard Cutter Roanoke Island stationed in Homer, Alaska, boarded the motor vessel Everest Spirit July 2, 2009.  The cutter’s boarding team did not find anything out of the ordinary on the vessel.  The Coast Guard performs routine boardings to ensure vessels are operating safely.

The Roanoke Island is a 110-foot Island class multi-mission patrol boat performing missions such as search and rescue and law enforcement. The Everest Spirit is a crude oil tanker flagged out of the Bahamas.
