>Kodiak Crab Festival Parade

A little rain never slows things down for Kodiak’s Crab Festival, held every year over Memorial Day weekend. Members of the D17 Coast Guard family joined the parade on Mill Bay Road, Saturday, May 29.

The color guard from the Kodiak Coast Guard base led off the parade right at 10 a.m., preceding Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell’s car.

Auxiliary Flotilla 170-02-03 was represented by some junior members: Lydia, Cecilia and Naomi Wood and Kelsey Siefner.
Judging the floats from the reviewing stand, BSU Kodiak commander Capt. Karl Moore joined festival committee member Dave Monture, U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski and state Sen. Gary Stevens. U.S. Coast Guard photos by AUX Drew Herman.
