>Coast Guard boards Vietnamese-flagged freighter

The crew of the Homer-based Coast Guard Cutter Roanoke Island conducted an at-sea boarding of a Vietnamese-flagged freighter June 1.
A six-person boarding team from the cutter boarded the 549-foot vessel in the evening 23 miles southwest of Homer.
The Coast Guard routinely boards cargo vessels at-sea to check for security verify the ship’s documentation.
Thank you to Lt. Cmdr. Helgen, commanding officer CGC Roanoke Island, for the images. Looks like calm seas and a nice day to be at sea.
