An HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew trained with Kodiak Island Search and Rescue volunteers July 24, 2010, on Pyramid Mountain on Kodiak Island.  This training utilized the volunteers to become familiar with helicopter operations in case a land search ever warranted the need for Coast Guard helicopter assistance.  The volunteers loaded their rescue equipment into the Dolphin helicopter and were dropped off on Pyramid Mountain.  KISAR volunteers had to locate a mannequin which was dropped earlier.  Once it was found it had to be secured in a litter.  The Air Station Kodiak flight mechanic hoisted the mannequin as part of the training.  Kodiak Island Search and Rescue is a volunteer organization whose objectives are to furnish highly trained volunteers and dog teams for search and rescue for the community.
