>Congratulations to Wyatt Lotzer!

During a school assembly at East Elementary in Kodiak Dec. 10, 2010, Wyatt Lotzer, 7, stood with the crew of the Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter who rescued him and his mother Nov. 21 from Ugak Bay after their skiff grounded.

Wyatt was recognized by the crew, Petty Officer 1st Class Keith Bastman, Petty Officer 3rd Class Chris Moore, Lt. Vincent Jansen and Lt. Cmdr. Craig Neubecker, for his bravery and confidence during the nighttime rescue.

Wyatt met each of the crew. Petty Officer 3rd Class Chris Moore, an aviation survival technician at Air Station Kodiak, shakes his hand in this photo.

Moore was lowered from the helicopter to the water, discussed the hoist procedure with the Lotzers and placed mother and son in the rescue basket for return to Kodiak.
