Kodiak, Deck Watch honor fallen shipmates

Coast Guard Base Kodiak personnel endured a week of sadness as they memorialized two fallen shipmates, Chief Petty Officer Richard Belisle (Ret.) and Petty Officer 1st Class James Hopkins.  Base Kodiak personnel held a memorial service and continued to respect these men by laying a wreath in Chiniak Bay.  Before the men were flown to Anchorage to be transferred to their final resting places, Coast Guardsmen lined the streets saluting the funeral procession.  Kodiak Coast Guardsmen exemplified the Coast Guard core values:  Honor, Respect, Devotion to Duty.
